Wyandotte County’s community clay studio & art hub.
About Us
EPIC Clay Studio offer affordable, inclusive clay classes to community members of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. We’re passionate about making all forms of art more accessible in KCK, and think everyone should get the chance to try clay.
Proudly located on Strawberry Hill in KCK, our clay studio is the heart of the larger EPIC Arts Campus that includes a community hall and gallery space, pop-up art container, outdoor stage and green space. Curious? Learn more here.
We’re firm believers in the power of creative placemaking. EPIC Arts, a program of CHWC, is fueled by the knowledge that art plays a pivotal role in building strong community pride and identity.

THIRD FRIDAY ARTWALK
Join us on 6th Street for the Art Walk, 5-9pm every third Friday of the month, from May through October!
The Third Friday Art Walk brings together over a thousand community members each month, including artists, families, and brick & mortars along 6th Street for a night of diverse, creative fun. Find an art gallery in an architecture firm. Hear a symphony in the middle of the street. Watch aerial acrobats perform next to a parking lot.
Follow @third_friday_artwalk for updates & more creative community events!

COMMUNITY HALL: UNITED COLORS
Next door to the clay studio is EPIC’s Community Hall. This space is currently activated by United Colors, a contemporary art gallery in Kansas City. Their program presents a diversity of voices and mediums, with a rotating exhibition schedule that resembles that of a kunsthalle and allows for longer shows and programming opportunities to engage the public. See their current and upcoming shows here.
Open Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, 12-3pm
The Community Hall is also available to the community as an event space for private events! Email epicclaystudio@chwckck.org with event inquiries, including a description of your event.

POP-UP ART CONTAINER
Art in a renovated shipping container? Yes! Our Pop-Up Art Container is located next to the clay studio, in front of Epic’s green space. Renovated by KU’s Dotte Agency and activated by United Colors, this miniature sidewalk gallery hosts exhibits from rising local artists.
The container’s doors are opened during the Third Friday Art Walks, and for exhibition receptions. In the meantime, walk on by and admire the art through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
